"Uh Oh"

These were the words out of Abby's mouth as she was semi-awake, but still really groggy, and she looked at her arm to discover the PICC line was gone. She had been so good about leaving it alone and if the cover fell down, she'd pull it back up or ask us to fix it for her. Since it had been on there almost a month, it is no wonder she fells funny without it. What a relief to have it out, though!

The MRI was delayed by over an hour, but once it got started, it went fine. We hope to have a call on Monday or Tuesday as to what they saw and thought of the MRI. Our hope is that most of the fat has been debulked and that fluid only shows up where fluid should be (contained within the dura). I know I've said it before, but the cord will always continue to look tethered on an MRI, so the MRI will not be a good indicator as to whether or not the cord has retethered in the future. We will have to go on symptoms alone for that. This will be the majority of our discussion with Dr. Jane on our next visit.

Well, I guess we wait until next week to see what the MRI shows. What a relief to have that PICC line out of there. No more infection!

Yay!!! Savor this day for swimming and enjoying the freedom of no icky PICC line or bandage in the way:) Keep us posted on the results (not that we have to ask you to...you have done such an excellent job of keeping everyone posted evening at your most trying times of this journey)!

Love,

Ronnie, Addie, and Dustin
